God’s Own Bridge

God’s Own Bridge

Justification is God’s own bridge which stretches across the pit of iniquity and leads to our Heavenly Home. The word tells us that God is the Architect of the bridge, that He fashioned it through Grace, that its Cornerstone is Redemption through the Blood of Christ, and that its approach is by Faith alone.

Nobody outgrows Scriptures; the Book widens and deepens with our years.

God’s eyes look beyond the color of skin and the characteristics of a nationality to see only the condition of the heart.

“Mighty Oaks from Small Acorns Grow”

The life of all these trees began as a small seed, yet within this shell, God has placed the necessary ingredients for life. Then He sends sunshine for warmth, rain for moisture, fertile soil for nourishment, and fresh air to produce a healthy specimen.

Can you imagine God looking at His creation and feeling a sense of pride? Our lives have similarities. God is the Giver and Maker of life. When God looks at us, does He feel this sense of accomplishment? The Psalmist wrote in

Psalm 1:3

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Only God can make a tree, but you and I can plant the seed.

“We need to read all the Bible. What we read in the Old Testament is not just history. It’s a pattern. It’s a blueprint.”

Some people say, “I don’t think the Old Testament applies to us.” I think it does in some respects. They lived under the law; we live under grace. Thank God!

The Ten Commandments are broken down into Two, but all included.

Heredity

“Old Grumpy married Sour-Puss and had some little Grouchers,

and

Touch-Me-Not used Sorehead’s boy and raised some little ouches.

Old Fatso’s girl wed Five-by-five and had a little blimp

and

Two-Face married Double-Talk and raised the devil’s imp.

Of course the point is plain and clear:

No need we look too far;
Each child reflects in his own way

…just what his parents are.”

“Let’s be the best dressed people in town, not in outward appearance, but the hidden man of the heart. These clothes will never wear out or look out of date and you will always feel well dressed and confident wearing these garments…when we dress with the right attitude. Let’s put on a smile. This suits each garment worn and we can and must work for the Lord with a happy heart and a willing spirit, with compassion and understanding.”

“Love doesn’t require technical training. It isn’t qualified by a degree or limited by a job description. Anyone can demonstrate love to others.”

“What I would do if things were different! They are not different, so I will make success with what material I have.”

“Today, I will stop saying, “If I had time…” I know I will never “find” time for anything. If I want time, I must make it.”

“Today, I will act toward other people as though this might be my last day on earth. I will not wait for tomorrow…tomorrow. Tomorrow never comes!”

Read 1 Corinthians 15:57 and reflect.

1 Corinthians 15:57

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

I (Your Name),
I resolve to rise above all the negative emotions and experiences that could hold me down. In God’s Word I will find wise and seasoned counsel to help me overcome the giants in my life… like fear, discouragement, worry loneliness, guilt, temptation, anger, resentment, doubts, failure, jealousy and procrastination.

Life is short and time is so precious. Let’s not waste it. Our attitude about any situation is our choice.
